My Name is Dhvanil Choksi From Ahmedabad... This is my first Blog and the blog is about G.T.P.L Broadband. ( I think Amadavadi people aware of this name LoL..) ..
Any ways Here we go...
So, After getting my 1st PC i started Searching abt internet connection available in my area.
Very next day i went to my friend's house for searching abt broadband company available in my area..
I opened google.in, type Broadband company in Ahmedabad.. I saw many company BSNL,Reliance,Airtel,Youbroadband,Spidigo,Tikona etc.
I don't wont to go for BSNL, & Spidigo coz BSNL has a poor plans,costly installation charges and not suitable to me.
Spidigo & Tikona are wireless broadband so i thought i will face speed problem in monsoon or in any day (i finished searching and get back to home)..
I m getting bored without net in my pc what to do?? No videos and porns(Hahaha), songs etc
i started watching TV ( I have a also channel connection of GTPL) then i saw advertisement on GTPL movie about GTPL Broadband i immediately call on their Customer Care num abt New connection n plans they told me plz give ur Phn num & add. Our Executive will come at ur home in 24 Hrs, i said ok..
Then very next afternoon one person came at my house (i can't believe he was my H.S.C school Friend)
i m very happy to see him, He gave me all information abt company its technology (fiber optics)..
I m very impressed with GTPL's plans.. I can't took off my eyes of their Day-night plans
3 Months 1600/- Unlimited Speed day 256kbps / Night 1Mbps ,
7 Months 2700/-,
15Months 4800/-
OMG what a awesome plans at that time i paid him a check of 1600/- ..
He said me the internet connection will active in next 3 days.i said plz do as early as possible
On third days i got my internet connection ..
At third days the Er. came and activated my connection Yeepyyy..
After 10 MIn i checked my speed
Woow what a superb speed i m getting at day 265 kbps..
And @ Night around 1200kbps.
After Completing 3 Months i renewed for 7 Months @ 2700/-
I m happy with my GTPL broadband it is very Cheep and high speed compare to other company in ahmedabad.
Now it is has been 7 months using and i have no complaint with this connection at all.(I faced big problems during these 7 Months due to their server problem)
Sometimes problems accrues but problem accrues in every company so i m happy with that. :)

**ONE THING ABOUT GTPL I FORGOT TO TELL ITS A DIAL-UP CONNECTION WITH FIBER OPTICS**
Pros:
1) Cheep and high speed
2) Toll-Free CC number 24*7 (18002330233)
3) Technician comes in 24 hrs after ur complaint.
Cons:
1) Sometimes I fucked up with error 651.
2) Not Available in every area of Ahmedabad.
3) Sometimes Down coz of technical Fault For 1 or 2 days..
The Conclusion is that if u planning to buy new Connection go for it it is very cheep and also has a good speed now a days coz they are upgraded their system.

DeleteI would like to tell u that if you want high speed with cheaper rates then u can go with GTPL..
From the last 6-7 Months i am not facing any problem like down time or connectivity problem..
GTPL is using FIBER OPTICS so it is fast then BSNL..
I dont like BSNL coz,
No high speed plan in cheap rate, (u can get in GTPL)
No day/night plan, (my is day 256kbps/ Night 1 mbps cost is 2750/7 Months)
Installation charges is very costly around 1000+Advance Bill (it is free in GTPL if u sub. for more than 3 months)
So thats the reasons i am not interested in BSNL.. If you like BSNL so u can go with it.. and u really thinking to change ur broadband company check this http://www.youbroadband.in/ or GTPL if availabale in ur area.

I have experienced very poor service of GTPL.24*7 service is not available all time in 24 slot iam getting service down almost 20 hours.

Deletei have installed a router recently to my gtpl account. but after few days now i am not able to connect my lappy with original gtpl account . is there any solution for the same. as gtpl customer care services is most worst i have ever seen, hope any one of u can rply.
If you're still facing the same issue, simply reset the router and re-connect it to the cable. GTPL uses same cable for multiple users. Only their user ID and password are different.
DeleteSo, if your neighbour is a GTPL user too, they can access your router from their computer, without any issues.
In this case, you need to reset the router and go to your router's console to setup everything all over again.
Just enter the username and password to connect it to the Internet and Voila!!! You're done.

I'm a GTPL user since last 4 years and pretty much happy with their cost effective services.
I did face issues in past but to compensate my disappointment, GTPL did offer me free services for a couple of months.
I'm on a 2 years contract, which is about to come to an end after 2 months from now.

DeleteThe speed kbps is kilo bits per second!
The downloading speed you find is kBps, so the bigger "B" means: kilo Bytes/Second!
And 1Byte=8bits!
So, as per 256kbps connection, you should get speeds of 256/8 Bytes=32kBps, So 40-50 means you are lucky! ;)

ReplyDeleteRight now I am on GTPL and it is not connecting 678 errors is most common.
In the last 4 months I have only got 3 week of trouble free connection (speed is only 60% of what they promised. I am on 512 day and 2mbs night for 4500 rupees 6months + 3 months free.)
from day 3 connection problems started I was very patient as anyone new company will have teething problems. I told the marketing rep that no problem but give me an extra month or how much time it takes to make the connection stable.
Then The problem never stopped they don't even know whats happening.
I know whats happening they don't have any decent engineers to setup a decent network. They have setup and open network and you can see other users computers on the network if you have enabled file sharing and don't have a password other users can browse your computer highly dangerous.
The customer care is stupid. They are using 10 year old gimmicks to fool the customer.
When you call up and say there is not connection they will tell you to got to start menu....to cut a long story short they will tell you change the networks setting from half duplex to full duplex(or vice versa).
This does nothing just to fool you, You feel as if they have helped you "remotely" and then they will tell you tommorrow they will send someone.
They are priced low but their service is pathetic.
I think the major problem is that their cable operators handle the broadband connections. Here in Surat Shiv Channel a local cable operator(and now a local cable channel) is kind of a dealer for GTPL.
I think this is their business model everywhere.
Now handling cable is one thing and handling a broadband connection is another.
These cable operators hire 7standard fail people to install cables they are use the same people to install broadband too.
I have spoken to them shouted at them. Taken the phone number of tha manager. Now he switches off his phone at night.
Tommorrow I might hit someone there because from the last 1 week I don't have connection at night.
This is when I get 2 mbps.
They take 6 months in advance and then its hard to get your money back so you have to listen to them.
I will be fighting tommorrow to get all my 4500 back and get BSNL connection again.
I thought my BSNL connection was bad. But now it seems better.
BSNL was overhead wires so it kept disconnecting.
Now when I applied for disconnection they are falling at my feet. When you threaten to disconnect they are ready to do anything.
I am thinking of getting them to lay underground line to my house and put a junction box then there will be no problems.
BSNL infrastructure is amazing. It will never break down. The problem is locally if your modem has a problem or if your line has a problem the local worker will not respond quickly.
But nowadays they are scared just threaten to apply for disconnection and they will sleep outside your house if you say its disconnecting at night :-P.
Tikone does not need to Bid for 3g to provide broadband They are supplying it through wifi.
Tikona is not in my area otherwise they would have been my first choice their plants are pretty good.
But I had a problem with them too. They have set up independent dealers and the dealer assured me there is coverage in my area.
He took 4500 for 6 months and then it turned out there is no coverage. Even though it was the next day they never returned my cash. I had to wait for 15 days. They said 45 days But I went to the office and shouted at the manager everyone and then I got the money in 15 days.
Its sad I am just 1km away from You broadband. WHo have the cheapest plans(with unlimited speeds upto 10mbps) and pretty good reliability

right now i am using Reliance broadband because it is cheap then GTPL ..

Facing errors on GTPL its sucks. 615 error. Every now and then in day time you can call them and it will be corrected in 10 minutes to half an error(but that is not the way to run a broadband company)

From 2 nights I am only getting speeds of 256k(I am on 1mpbs connection).
And there is a break every now and then its just impossible to watch any youtube video as when the connection breaks the video stops buffering then it will buffer from the beginning.
You cannot download anything from a server that does not support resume.
Its pathetic.
They don't have any idea what is wrong with the network as it is one big mess.
GTPL is a cable operator that is their "AUKAD" this is what happens when they try to go above their "AUKAD"(capacity)
They are not fit as a company to run a broadband internet...period.
They thought optic finer and cables connection is the same thing.

Go for tikona if you have heavy usage GTPL SUCKS really bad.Tikona offers 20 GB in rs 700 @ 2mbps and after that 512 kbps and there is a live chat zone where you can get support instantly.You can check your usage any time in a day, it's updated as soon you log out and again log in.It even gives best speed in monsoons and is available almost anywhere in Ahmedabad. You can book it online too. I develop apps for windows 8 and this is the best network you can get.

About Reliance I have heard that the customer service is not good and the speed is also very less as compared to what we have subscribed and there is a huge speed variation they also don't respond to the technical problems. There are frequent technical faults. So what are your views???

ReplyDeleteThey are saying that their C.C service available for 24*7 but some times we can't connect them reason i don't know.. regarding the complains once you complain about anything they will come in 24 hrs.
ReplyDeleteAnd regarding the speed i would like say that when i got GTPL (Day/Night) connection i am fully satisfied with the speed(1 mbps night). but after sometimes it decreased up to 800kbps. when i came to know about reason, the service guy told me that we are facing some problem in night thats why i am unable to receive full speed.
But if you subscribe for full day plan then you will get full speed which they promised.

ReplyDeleteI have BSNL for 2 years now with the 512 Kbps speed plan. The connection has hardly been a problem ever with me. The ONLY problem is speed. There're no faster speed plans with BSNL due to which it takes forever for me to download huge PC games. I have 2 options now.
SPIDIGO and GTPL. No other operators available here. SPIDIGO has 2 Mbps flat unlimited plan for 5749/- 6 + 1 months whereas GTPL has 1 Mbps plan for 4700 = 6 + 1 months.
I'm confused as what to do. No doubt, I want speed. Atleast 1 Mbps to stream youtube videos or download stuff. But not by compromising on reliability. GTPL guys told me my BSNL Wireless Modem will not work with their service (a downturn for my mind). So now, I have to buy a router as well ~worth 1500 atleast plus they will charge me around 250 for wireless installation (router). Still okay with me if it all turns out good in the end.
I've gone through reviews for both of them and found a list of pending complaints for both in consumer complaints forum. So, can't decide with which should I go. Everyone has diff reviews about every ISP. I love BSNL, but their old traditional approach of not introducing any new plans - SUCKS!

DeleteI am using spidigo for last 1 year.. Generally its service is avg but Customer Care is worst.. If your Connection stops, U will try to call Cust. care & it will always busy.. After trying 3-4 hours continuously u can connect to Customer Care people & the only thing they can do is to forward request to technical people.. after 1 or 2 days ur request will be automatically closed.. Then u have to follow the whole process again.. & Hardly technical person comes & resolve issue..

Huh it seems you are so much confused b/w GTPL and Spidigo it is very hard to say what to choose. I would like to say that our tenant are using Spidigo with no problem because spidigo's tower is very nearest to our house. And about GTPL 3 of my friends are using GTPL with no complain. As per my opinion if GTPL is available in your area then go for it but don't go with day/night plan coz they are facing some issues on that paln go with full day plan. i also used GTPL and i like that but it is little costly then Reliance so i chose reliance. GTPL is using Fiber optics so u will get decent speed then spidigo.

Thanks for your reply, Dhvanil. I'm from Ahmedabad (Naranpura). I called up GTPL and Spidigo. A Spidigo guy came to my house and I saw that the tower is very near. So, I guessed there shouldn't be a problem. I paid him the sum of 6 + 1 months for 2 Mbps plan. Waiting for the installation now. I'm very optimistic about it's performance. Let's see how it has to go :)

DeleteHey, finally got it installed after a bit of fighting with them. No one came for Installation for 6 days. So, on 7th day I'm calling the guy who came to my house for taking the payment to give my money back. I don't want your services if you keep giving me fake promises. He said, "Sir, let me talk to the technician. It will be done today." And the technician came with in 2 hours. Installed the services and as of now, I'm getting great speeds (as promised). Sometimes, bursts to 300 KBs.
Connection is very good. Using it for 3 days now. Not disconnected a single time on it's own. Feelin' better! :)

DeleteHi...I am a GTPL user fom one month. The speed is phenomenal. I have taken a limited plan of 60GB for 6 months. I used to have unlimited plan of BSNL previously. But i made a big mistake in understanding the limited plan. I taught it was 60GB per month plan instead for 6 months as a whole. Now as a unlimited plan user i downloaded a fairly large amount of things. i went on the link that u shared for cheking usage details. but i cant understand the numbers that says ratable uits, raw units, credit limit etc. how do i understand what am i being charged rightnow. please reply.

ReplyDeleteWe are use GTPL Broadband connection from last 4 month. in a week almost 2 days connection is not working and if we call to area manager they told me that Sunday is a holiday and we can't do anything . each and every time we have to call almost 50 time for repairing. we dont want to restart after complicating 6 month .
Go for reliance broadband it's cheaper then GTPL & move to next gen. So why you're using 256 or 512kbps as price of 2mbps.

They are not interested to do work and not to do proper work in your orgz.

The GTPL guy says they use DSL and this router is ADSL...I don't know the technicality.appreciate your help.
GTPL is the Worst company I have ever come across. I have logged a complaint / request for Router Purchase and installation on 06-09-2016, and surprisingly there were no holiday from 06-09-2016 to 10-09-2016 and still no revert and even calling they are not ready to answer.
ReplyDeleteGTPL is busy without nothing and not picks up the call. and if they picks up by mistake, they don't answer, keep mum on the other side and put the receiver aside. Hopeless service, and total waste of money...
ReplyDeleteI have noticed, generally GTPL broadband users are not happy with connection. I am using their connection since 2 years and more and have not found any trouble, except in case of electricity failure in midway. I am running largest Sindhi Channel of India "SindhiTv Gandhidham" on youtube and whole day I need to up-link and down-link huge videos files, so I don't think GTPL is so bad, I am enjoying.
